Ode To Helene, mixed media on two 8″ x 8″ wood panels, 2024
These collages were created directly after the flooding and winds of Hurricane Helene devastated Western North Carolina. The compositions feature images of the destruction from local newspapers, juxtaposed with images of natural beauty. The designs are inspired by quilt squares, which are featured on many barns and homes throughout the area. Creating these pieces was my way of coping with the heartbreak of what I witnessed, and celebrating the love and strong community that emerged everywhere.

These pieces are sold.
